Vietnam has both.
Public Hospital
Public institutions cater to a large portion of the Vietnamese population. They sometimes have extremely experienced specialists. However, for a newly settled foreigner, several difficulties may arise:
- many patients;
- waiting time;
- different organization than what is known in France;
- language barrier;
- administrative formalities.
Private Hospital or Clinic
For an expatriate, it is often simpler.
The advantages may include:
- easier appointment scheduling;
- English-speaking staff;
- international services;
- less waiting time;
- clearer billing for insurance.
On the other hand, prices can be significantly higher.
This is precisely why having a serious health insurance is important.
