Vietnam has both.

Public Hospital

Public institutions cater to a large portion of the Vietnamese population. They sometimes have extremely experienced specialists. However, for a newly settled foreigner, several difficulties may arise:

  • many patients;
  • waiting time;
  • different organization than what is known in France;
  • language barrier;
  • administrative formalities.

Private Hospital or Clinic

For an expatriate, it is often simpler.

The advantages may include:

  • easier appointment scheduling;
  • English-speaking staff;
  • international services;
  • less waiting time;
  • clearer billing for insurance.

On the other hand, prices can be significantly higher.

This is precisely why having a serious health insurance is important.
